Gyms

Virgin Active

If you're looking for a gym, Singapore has lots of independent chains and it may be helpful to visit locations near you -- often the best deals are from smaller neighborhood spots rather than chains.

Singapore has Anytime Fitness, Virgin Active, and Barry’s, just like in North America. Prices range from $80-300/month.

If you're used to Equinox in the US, you might want to consider Virgin Active, Equinox's closest competitor internationally. Virgin Active has a wide variety of classes, private trainers, and high-end locations in the city centre and across Singapore, and as an added bonus you can attend other Virgin Active locations across Asia/Oceania with your membership.

Bonus: Virgin Active operates a free yoga class (even for non-members!) that's on top of the Marina Bay Sands. It's quite early, but it's hard to beat the views!

Fitness Classes

Most membership gyms offer classes -- after you register, you should be able to see what is available to you via your gym's app or website.

If you are a Classpass member, your membership will work in Singapore and you can use it to explore your fitness options across the city.

Climbing

Climb Central Funan

Climbing gyms are usually located in malls themselves, with the most common one being Climb Central, with some smaller chains + independent gyms around the city.

Outdoor fitness

Singapore is nearly 60% undeveloped nature, on purpose -- given its density, the city reserves lots of space for trails, greenery, beaches, and bike paths.

Biking

The whole country is connected by parks called the Park Connectors, which typically also end and begin at major public transit stations. So, you can literally bike the whole country using dedicated bike lanes away from road traffic.

You can use the NParks website to find parks and park connectors near you, at any time.

Hiking

Southern Ridges

Singapore has lots of hiking trails and walking paths, many with stunning views. Consider hiking the Southern Ridges. Singaporean walking paths are mostly paved and well lit, so you can explore them at any hour.

Swimming

Most private apartments have pools, but if not, ActiveSG has a directory of public swimming pools.

Racquet Sports:

Tennis, Pickleball and Padel are popular sports in Singapore, with courts do be found in private clubs, to public rented courts, to public, government-subsidised ActiveSG courts.
